I mainly use EndNote for keeping track of PDFs and actually reading them later, so I really wanted that part of the experience to feel easy and dependable. But in day-to-day use, it has felt a bit clunky to me. Some PDFs don’t seem to attach properly the first time, and then I end up double-checking things or manually fixing them. The file naming can also get messy quickly, especially when I’m adding a bunch of articles at once and just want everything to stay organized without having to babysit it.
I’ve also had a few headaches with syncing PDFs across devices. Sometimes it works fine, and other times I open EndNote on another computer and realize something didn’t come through the way I expected. It’s not unusable, and I wouldn’t say it completely ruins the software, but for what EndNote costs, I expected the PDF side of things to feel a lot smoother and more polished. It’s just one of those small frustrations that adds up when you rely on it regularly.

EndNote has been handy for sharing papers with my lab group. The group folders are simple enough to use, and my lab mates can add notes and stuff without everything getting all messy.

The Word plugin is probably the best part, since citations go in without too much hassle and switching styles is simple enough. Still, I was a bit disappointed because it doesn’t always work perfectly, and I’ve had to fix things manually more often than I hoped. It saves time overall, but I expected it to be a little more reliable.

I use EndNote for school, it does help me keep my references organized. So in that sense, I’m glad I have it. But the site can be painfully slow sometimes. Pages take ages to load, and syncing references will randomly hang with no obvious reason why. It’s especially annoying when I’m just trying to get something done quickly. I wouldn’t say it’s useless, because it definitely has its good points, but the lag makes it hard to really enjoy using it day to day.

endnote is helpful for keeping all my articles in one place, and the folders and groups are nice when they behave. once you start collecting a bunch of papers, everyone basically needs something like this or it all turns into chaos.

That said, organizing a big library can feel way more clunky than it should. Duplicates seem to pop up all the time, syncing always makes me a little nervous, and moving references around is rarely as smooth as I want. It gets the job done, but I expected it to be easier

I renewed my EndNote subscription and it followed the usual pattern I hope for with software renewals: quick payment, license key shows up, and everything just works. The key activated fast, and my old library was still right where I left it, which was my main concern. I checked the support page along the way and it was clear enough to get me through without needing extra help

I was having trouble getting EndNote to sync, so I sent a message not expecting much. To my surprise, support got back to me the same day and it actually felt like they’d read what I wrote instead of sending some generic reply. After a few emails, they helped me get everything working again. Really happy with how smoothly it went!

The product itself was good, but it’s a little pricey for what I expected. I also didn’t love the way I felt talked down to when I had a question, which kind of took away from the overall experience.

The new updates did help a bit, I’ll give them that. Syncing feels smoother now, which is nice, but some things still take way too many clicks. I don’t get why simple features have to feel buried. It’s better than before, but it still gets on my nerves sometimes.

EndNote is fine overall, but it took me longer than I expected to feel comfortable using it. The learning curve is kind of frustrating at first, and there were a few times where I just... yeah. Once you figure things out it works okay, but getting there is a bit of a hassle.

Overall, the citations were mostly okay, but a few of the references came out wrong and I had to go back and fix them. What made it more frustrating was having to deal with repeated verification every time I was just trying to check or update something. It got annoying quickly.

EndNote does have a ton of citation styles, which is really helpful. But trying to find the exact one I need can be a pain sometimes. Some journals are already in there, while others need tweaking or extra files downloaded, and it just gets kind of annoying. Once everything is set up, it works fine, but the whole process feels messier than it should. Whoever runs this could definitely make it more student-friendly.

I was expecting to spend ages digging through everything and thinking, okay, here we go, this is going to take forever. But the duplicate detection found the repeats really fast, and I just sat there like, wait… that’s it? Huge time-saver.

In my experience, EndNote does a decent job importing most references, but I still find myself double-checking everything afterward. Some of the fields come in messy or missing, especially author names and journal titles, so I usually have to spend a bit of time fixing those before I can trust the references.

I use EndNote on both my laptop and my office PC, and the sync has been really solid for me. My references and PDFs usually show up right where I need them without any unnecessary messing around. I did have one time where the sync was a bit slow, but it sorted itself out. Overall, I’m happy with it...

The Word plugin just works for me. My citations sync without any drama, which is exactly how it should be. It’s only fair that a tool like this actually delivers on the basics, and so far it does.
